In China's MPV market, the Buick GL8 is widely recognized as a top choice for many consumers and an inevitable benchmark for competitors in its class. Since its domestic production launch in 1999, it has undergone six generations of evolution, with cumulative sales exceeding 2 million units, earning an excellent reputation for the Buick brand. As electrification continues to gain momentum and to meet consumers' diverse car-buying needs, SAIC-GM Buick has now further expanded its MPV product lineup

On December 5th, the Buick Zhijing Shijia was officially launched, offering two trim levels: the Premium Edition and the Luxury Edition. As the second model under Buick’s high-end new energy sub-brand "Zhijing", the Buick Zhijing Shijia falls into the mid-to-large MPV category with its dimensions. It comes standard with a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system paired with dual-motor all-wheel drive across the entire lineup, delivering a CLTC pure electric range of 224 kilometers. In addition to the PHEV variant, it is reported that an EV (battery electric vehicle) version of the Buick Zhijing Shijia will be launched later.
In terms of product specifications, the Buick Zhijing Shijia measures 5260mm in length, 2023mm in width, and 1820mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3160mm. It is currently the largest model in SAIC-GM Buick’s MPV lineup in terms of dimensions. Building on this, the entire Zhijing Shijia lineup offers three exterior color options: Phantom Black, Pearl White, and Starlight Silver, paired with two interior color choices: Amber Warm Brown or Ivory Cloud White.
The Buick Zhijing Shijia adopts an all-new exterior design language, reportedly inspired by Gulfstream private jets. Its front face features an extensive closed-off treatment, as well as standard active grille shutters and hidden door handles, resulting in a drag coefficient of 0.258Cd. Additionally, the front light clusters of the Buick Zhijing Shijia offer 7 adaptive lighting modes and 5 welcome light sequences; the through-type rear light cluster is embedded with 257 ultra-red LED bulbs, with the central "Buick" letter badge illuminating synchronously.
In addition, as the entry-level model of the Buick Zhijing Shijia series, the Premium Edition comes standard with 18-inch rims, a BOSE audio system with 16 speakers (including headrest speakers), energy-saving sentinel mode, dash cam, Silver Wing concierge light carpet, power sliding doors on both sides, heated steering wheel, wool carpet, and in-car fog-free humidifier. Compared with the Premium Edition, the Luxury Edition is priced 30,000 yuan higher, mainly adding configurations such as 19-inch rims, rear cabin multimedia entertainment screen, OMS (Occupant Monitor System) rear cabin camera, gesture control for sliding doors, rear glass sunroof, hands-free power tailgate, rear sunroof with electric sunshade, sunshades for the side windows of the second and third rows, 121-color ambient lighting, 15mm-thick Australian wool carpet, intelligent fragrance system, and thermoelectric refrigerator.
