Geely Galaxy officially announced that its brand-new AI-powered C-class all-electric sports sedan has been officially named Geely Galaxy TT, a name that claimed the No.1 spot with the highest votes in the global naming campaign.
Geely Galaxy adopted a global naming campaign to collect name proposals for the new vehicle from users worldwide. After extensive voting and screening, the name "TT" stood out from numerous candidates and claimed the top spot by a clear margin. Other shortlisted names in the Top 5 included A8TT, A8, Xingchi and Liuguang. The official brand has assigned two layers of meanings to "TT": Trend & Technology (Global Originality & Ultimate Technology), and Time Tourist. Reasons put forward by users who proposed the name "TT" are as follows: "TT stands for uniqueness and individuality", "It is catchy and appeals to young drivers", "China deserves its own TT badged model", "Represents him and her, the first car for young people", "TT also stands for TurboTurns, and sounds like the steady thump of a heartbeat, brimming with vitality and sportiness".
The Galaxy TT has previously completed MIIT filing. Adopting an all-new design language, the new car features a closed front grille paired with slender, rounded headlight clusters on both sides, delivering an overall youthful visual impression. Its rear end is fitted with a through-type taillight assembly with distinctive styling on both flanks. Matched with an aggressively sculpted rear bumper, the vehicle’s sporty character is further accentuated.
In terms of body dimensions, the Galaxy TT measures 4,999mm in length, 1,919mm in width and 1,479mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920mm, positioning it as a mid-to-large all-electric sedan. It is equipped with a TZ184QY301 drive motor manufactured by Wuxi XINGDIAN Drive Technology Co., Ltd., delivering a maximum power output of 245kW. The gross vehicle weight stands at 2,205kg, while the curb weight is 1,765kg (1,790kg for certain trims). The Galaxy TT will be offered with three battery pack capacities: 52.4kWh, 63.8kWh and 75.2kWh. Corresponding to different configurations, the CLTC pure electric driving ranges cover four variants: 540km, 640km, 650km and 725km. Specifically, the 52.4kWh battery pack supports a 540km range, the 63.8kWh version delivers 640km, and the large-capacity 75.2kWh battery pack achieves either 650km or 725km of driving range.
