On November 4th, the IM Motors LS9 made its global debut and officially opened for pre-order. The new model launches two Super Extended-Range versions: the 52 Ultra Edition and 66 Ultra Edition. As the flagship large six-seat SUV under IM Motors, the LS9 integrates the culmination of SAIC's technological achievements and is determined to reshape the large six-seat flagship SUV market.
Exterior Design
The overall design style of the IM Motors LS9 echoes the brand's existing models while adding unique elegance and grandeur exclusive to full-size vehicles. It adopts a closed front face design paired with a star-ring through-type light strip, enhancing the vehicle's texture while ensuring high recognition. The lidar on the roof signifies its advanced intelligent driving assistance capabilities and adds a sense of technology.
The side lines of the body are concise yet powerful, showcasing the sense of volume that a large SUV should have. With a length of 5279mm and a wheelbase of 3160mm, it boasts a sleek and imposing silhouette. Chrome trim adorns the lower edge of the windows and side skirts, highlighting the vehicle's exquisite details.
The rear of the car also features a square outline, with through-type taillights retaining the family style. The protruding rear bumper enhances the sophistication of the rear end while maintaining the stability that a flagship SUV deserves.
Interior & Comfort
The interior is fully wrapped in leather, creating a warm, ambient and high-end atmosphere. It comes equipped with essential amenities for modern smart cars—dubbed "refrigerator, large screen and comfortable sofa"—including a 27.1-inch 5K cockpit display, a 21.5-inch 4K second-row entertainment screen, a 15.6-inch co-pilot entertainment screen, and a class-leading 12L double-door car refrigerator. The co-pilot zero-gravity seat, dual zero-gravity seats in the second row, and super king-size bed mode further elevate comfort. Notably, the IM Motors LS9 debuts with 4D mechanical massage seats, offering massage intensity seven times that of pneumatic massage. It also features an industry-first instant-purification fresh air system, achieving 100 air changes per hour—surpassing the fresh air standards for medical buildings.
Intelligence
The entire LS9 lineup comes standard with a 520-line ultra-wide field lidar and NVIDIA Thor chip, laying the hardware foundation for L3-level driving assistance. Empowered by Momenta's large model, the assisted driving experience is more relaxed and safe. Additionally, IM Motors pioneers an integrated ultra-wide smart searchlight, expanding nighttime visibility.
Chassis & Driving Performance
The IM Motors LS9 is equipped with the Lizard Digital Chassis 3.0, addressing pain points of traditional large six-seat SUVs such as "bulkiness and poor maneuverability" and "excessive body roll like sailing a boat". It features the only 24° bidirectional intelligent four-wheel steering system in its class, achieving an ultra-small turning radius of just 4.95 meters—comparable to the Volkswagen Polo in flexibility. The 150mm large-stroke dual-chamber closed air suspension, combined with an intelligent electronically controlled damping adjustment system, ensures no body roll during high-speed cornering and no jolting on gravel roads, significantly enhancing ride comfort.
Meanwhile, the entire lineup comes standard with the Lizard Vector Four-Wheel Drive System, adapting to various off-road conditions. The Lizard Tire Blowout Stabilization Control System and Active Anti-Roll 3.0 System deliver flagship-level driving safety, safeguarding both drivers and passengers.
Power & Range
In terms of power performance, the entire LS9 lineup is equipped with an 800V architecture. The dual-motor vector four-wheel drive system provides powerful output, with a peak power of 390kW and a peak torque of 670N·m, enabling a 0-100km/h acceleration time in the 4-second range. Notably, the IM Motors LS9 is equipped with the Stellar Super Extended-Range System, allowing it to deliver strong power throughout the 1500km range—even in extreme environments such as plateaus and frigid regions.
For range, it is fitted with an extended-range system-exclusive power battery, offering a class-leading pure electric range of 402km and a combined range of 1508km. The combined fuel-electric equivalent consumption is only 2.81L per 100km. Furthermore, IM Motors' industry-first ERNC 2.0 active noise cancellation technology minimizes noise when the extended-range generator kicks in, greatly improving the vehicle's quietness.
