The Li L9 Livis features a more assertive body proportion, a two-tone paint finish, and meticulously refined details. It is equipped with an 800V active suspension system specifically developed for full-size SUVs. This system, combined with steer-by-wire, rear-wheel steering, and brake-by-wire, constitutes a complete wire-controlled chassis. Both the interior and exterior of the doors are fitted with dual mechanical and electric opening mechanisms, supplemented by 360° LiDAR and an independent DCU redundancy design for enhanced safety.
Li Xiang, Chairman and CEO of Li Auto, stated, "When the Li L9 launched in 2022, it became the first Chinese-brand vehicle priced above 400,000 RMB to achieve monthly sales exceeding 10,000 units. For our next-generation flagship, we remain committed to the same standard: family. The all-new Li L9 Livis is a family flagship SUV built to the highest standard of 'home', powered by the core technologies of the embodied intelligence era."
The Li L9 Livis measures 5255 mm in length, 2000 mm in width, and 1810 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3125 mm. The design features a shortened front overhang, an extended rear overhang, a raised hood, and increased bumper surface area. The rear adopts a wide-shoulder, upright trapezoidal design, complemented by 22-inch wheels.
The crystal-gray chrome trim strips cost five times as much as conventional ones. A signature "diamond character line" runs from the A-pillar to the D-pillar. UWB radar replaces ultrasonic radar, eliminating the need for 12 sensor cutouts on the body. The two-tone body uses a painting process consistent with that of ultra-luxury vehicles, adding a complete painting step to achieve a zero-flush golden double waistline.
Li Auto spent four years developing an 800V active suspension specifically for full-size SUVs. It delivers a maximum single-wheel lifting force exceeding 10,000 Newtons, eliminates the auxiliary anti-roll bar, and allows for independent control of each wheel. The system actively extends when encountering potholes and contracts over bumps, resulting in almost no body roll during cornering or emergency lane changes. When extricating the vehicle, it can directly lift a trapped wheel, eliminating the need for a jack during tire changes.
The exterior features semi-hidden door handles that support both mechanical pulling and button-activated electric opening. The interior is equipped with both electric buttons and mechanical door handles. A 360-degree LiDAR system detects the external environment before the door is opened. Each door is equipped with an independent DCU and a non-interruptible power redundancy design, and all four doors are fitted with capacitive anti-pinch strips.
In addition to the styling, door system, and 800V active suspension showcased at the auto show, the Li L9 Livis will also feature a 5C range-extender system, a fully wire-controlled chassis, dual M100 chips with a total computing power of 2560 TOPS, and a new-generation interior and smart cockpit. Complete information will be revealed at the press conference on May 15. Li Auto stated it will continue its journey toward becoming a global leader in embodied intelligence.
